Arnold D. Abens Sr.
Arnold went to his eternal home in heaven on August 24. He trusted Jesus as his Savior and desired for all of you to do the same.
Arnold was born June 13, 1933 to LaVerne and Gladys Abens. They had twelve children, Irene, LaVerne (Pete), Richard (Dick), Arnold, William (Bill), Jean, John (Bud), Dorothy, Karen, Nancy, Judy and George.
Arnold graduated from Sandwich High School then he served our country four years in the Navy. He married Gladys Christian April 26, 1958 in the Helmar Lutheran Church where he is a member. Arnold worked for many years and retired from Western Electric.
Arnold and Gladys were blessed with children Janice Mae and Arnold Dean Jr.; grandchildren Sarah, David, and Daniel, Tyler, Emily, Lauren and Justin; great-grandchildren Isabella, Lilyana, Bennett, Sophia, Ezra, William, Esther, Elena and Micah.
His home going service will be held at the Helmar Lutheran Church 11935 Lisbon Road on August 29 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at the Helmar cemetery. You may greet the family after the burial back at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to further the Lords work would be appreciated.
