ARLEN THELMAR LARSON, age 84 of Waseca passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Lake Shore Inn in Waseca with family and friends by his side.
Born at home on May 21, 1931 in Deerfield Township, Steele County, Minnesota he was the son of Alfred and Tillie (Halland) Larson.  He graduated from Medford High School in 1949 and following graduation did various farm work.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1954.  Following his discharge he worked at Birdseye in Waseca and was later employed at Federated Insurance in Owatonna as an offset printing press operator for 38 years.  Arlen enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He was a member of North Waseca Lutheran Church where he was head usher for 40 years.  He was also a lifetime member of the VFW and Honor Guard and was a past member of the American Legion and Eagles in Waseca.
He is survived by one sister, Ardella (Mennow) Frerichs of Galena, MO; and several nieces and nephews, David (Lisa) Larson of Owatonna, Todd Larson of Blooming Prairie, Carol Blaisdell of Owatonna, Ronnie Robinson of Owatonna, Gary (Brenda) Robinson of Claremont, Tammy (Mike) Dolney of South Dakota, Wayne Frerichs of Colorado, Robert (Marlene) Frerichs of Colorado, Vernon (Mae) Frerichs of Missouri, Willie (Karen) Frerichs of Georgia, and Cheryl (Ed) Trivett of Oklahoma.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, LaVerne Larson. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 11:00 AM at North Waseca Lutheran Church.  Burial will follow at North Waseca Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Friday, one hour before services at the church.
