ANNA MARGRETTE SWENSON, age 92 of Waseca died on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Foxdale in Waseca.
Born on August 28, 1926 at home in Hollandale, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Benjamin "Ben" and Cornelia "Kate" (Van der Meer) Nelemans.  She attended school in Maple Island and Waseca County School District #46.  Anna married Victor Swenson on October 6, 1946 at Vista Covenant Church in Otisco Township.  She worked at Birdseye and J.C. Penney in Waseca and following her retirement, worked at the Senior Citizen Transportation Office.  Anna was proud of her Dutch heritage and collected Dutch memorabilia throughout her life.  She enjoyed traveling across the USA and abroad, collecting spoons and bells along the way.  She also enjoyed gardening, working outdoors, sewing and listening to music.  She enjoyed watching and listening to the MN Twins, assembling scrapbooks, attending or listening to Bluejay activities including sports, band, choir and plays.
She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca where she was Cradle Roll Superintendent, active in the church circle, and a willing volunteer for all church activities.  She was also a member of the Waseca Area Senior Citizen Center, Waseca Hospital Auxiliary, and Cub Scout Den Mother.
She is survived by three children, Lynn "Bernie" (Susan) Swenson of Waseca, Duane "Duey" (Cindy) Swenson of Henderson, NV, and Kathryn (Arlen) Tirevold of Gruver, IA; 6 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by one sister, Nina Youngberg of Waseca and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Henry and Lyle Nelemans; son and daughter-in-law, Loren and Mary Swenson; brother-in-law, Glenn Youngberg; sister-in-law, Reka Nelemans. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Faith United Methodist Church in Waseca.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of services at the church.  Burial will follow at Woodville Cemetery in Waseca.
