Anna Rosa Worke

ANNA ROSA MARIA WORKE, age 95, of Waseca, died on Thursday morning, July 21, 2022 at Foxdale Memory Care in Waseca.

Born on August 25, 1926 in Waldorf to Alfred and Elizabeth (Kain) Tesch. She attended Freeborn Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1944. On October 15, 1944, Anna was united in marriage to Harold Worke at First Lutheran Church in Waldorf. Anna and Harold lived in a several communities throughout their life including Waldorf, Virginia, Minnesota where they owned and operated a gas station, Minnesota Lake where they owned and operated Town Talk Café, Wichita, Kansas, Faribault and Waseca. Anna worked at Herter’s in Waseca for many years as well at Ben Franklin, Dueber’s, and owned and operated the Montgomery Ward store in Waseca. Later in life Anna and Harold moved to Maple Terrace and worked as the caretakers. Together, Anna and Harold shared 55 years of marriage before Harold passed away on September 21, 2000. Later in life, Anna continued to work and help her son’s at the Pheasant Café.

Anna was not afraid of hard work as she served in several capacities throughout her life but most importantly as a mother to her seven children. She enjoyed baking, sewing, reading, gardening, and puzzles. Anna’s faith was very important to her, and she was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca.

Anna is survived by her children: Joyce Schulze of San Diego, CA, Gary (Kathy) Worke of Waseca, Nancy Worke of Waseca, Mark (Jean) Worke of New Prague, and Dean (Lorene) Worke of Waseca; daughter-in-law, Barb Worke of Rowlett, TX; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sister, Rosa Fogal of Owatonna; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons: Roger and Glen, and five siblings.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM on Monday, August 1, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca. Burial will be in First Lutheran Cemetery in Waldorf. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
