Andrew Allen Sass

ANDREW ALLEN SASS, age 27 of Waterville, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, as the result of ongoing complications related to diabetes.

Born on March 18, 1994, in Waseca, Andrew was the son of Larry F. Sass and Renee J. (Recknor) Timlin. He was a 2012 graduate of Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton High School. Andrew began playing drums in school and his love for percussion continued into his adulthood. He loved attending concerts with friends and traveled throughout the Midwest to take in his favorite bands’ shows. Since graduating he worked various jobs around the area but most recently was employed with Woodville Pork in Waseca and Spicer Farms in New Richland where he was a barn manager. Andrew was known to friends and family as a “social butterfly” and was always smiling and laughing. Night or day, he was always there when somebody was in a jam, needed a helping hand, or needed a listening ear. The greatest love in Andrew’s life was his son, Braxton, and they loved spending time together.

Andrew is survived by his son, Braxton Sass; his mother and step-father, Renee (Dan) Timlin of Mankato; his father and step-mother, Larry (Nan) Sass of Walters; his siblings, Lawrence Sass of Vernon Center, Amanda Sass of Mankato, and Brianna Sass of PA; four step-siblings, Zach and Carter Timlin of Waseca, Kayla Powell of CO, and Andrew Bakken of Redwing; and both of his grandmothers, Marilyn Recknor of Waseca and LaJune Sass of Waseca. He was preceded in death by all his great-grandparents; and two grandfathers.

Visitation will be held from 3-5 PM on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the State Street Chapel of Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services in Waseca. A closing prayer service will begin at 5:00 PM. A private interment service will follow at a later date at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Waseca.
