Alvin Krogh December 5, 1928 - September 5, 2012
Alvin (Ole) Krogh, age 83, of Faribault, died Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the Homestead Hospice of Owatonna, following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory in Faribault, with Pastor Aaron Brockmeier, officiating. Interment will be at the Meadow Ridge Memorial Park in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. and on Monday for one hour prior to the services. Alvin Lyle Krogh, the son of John and Inez (Harsin) Krogh, was born on December 5, 1928 in Lynch, Neb. He was raised there and he moved to Faribault in 1942 with his parents and brother, Gene. Alvin married Kathryn Lohman on July 9, 1948 at the Assemblies of God Church in Faribault. He worked as a metal lather for Artcraft Co. for 18 years. During his employment with Artcraft he attended Dunwoody Institute to perfect his trade. Later he worked with the Wood, Wire, and Metal Lathers'' Local Union No. 9190L. He and Kathryn lived for 50 years on their farm in Walcott Township. Alvin enjoyed farming and life on the farm. They travelled often and during the 1970s spent a year working in Fairbanks, Alaska during the Alaskan Pipeline expansion. They enjoyed camping and spent 25 summers at LeMieux''s Resort on Cedar Lake. Kathryn preceded him in death on November 8, 2005. Alvin was a member of the Faribault Aerie 1460 Fraternal Order of Eagles, Faribo Sno-Go Club, and the Flying R Saddle Club. He is survived by five children, Lyle (Liz) Krogh, Kenny (Linda) Krogh, and Karen Carter, all of Faribault, Mary (Craig) Etherton of Owatonna, and Kevin (Sonia) Krogh of Medford; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn; parents; son, Larry Krogh; grandson, Kory Krogh; brothers, Carl, John, and Gene Krogh; and sisters, Leona Pintt and Fern McClellan.
