Alice Luedke July 11, 1914 - March 19, 2009
Alice M. "Mazie" Luedke, age 94, of Faribault, died Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home in Faribault. Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Congregational Church of Faribault, United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Nancy Peebles and Rev. Henry Doyle officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at the Maple Lawn Cemetery in Faribault. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. The family prefers that memorials be directed to the Congregational Church of Faribault, Maple Lawn Cemetery or the Rice County Historical Society. Arrangements are being completed by the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault. Alice M. Campbell, the daughter of John and Mary (Bogie) Campbell, was born on July 11, 1914 in Curlew, IA. She lived with her family in Iowa Falls, IA and attended Iowa Falls High School graduating with the class of 1932. Alice moved to Faribault in 1933. On June 27, 1937 she was united in marriage to George F. Luedke in Iowa Falls, IA. Mr. Luedke preceded her in death on August 15, 1988. Alice was a home maker for most of her life and volunteered for many organizations including, life member of the Rice County Historical Society, 60 plus year member of the Athens Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, long time member of the Congregational Church of Faribault, was a Pink Lady at the original St. Lucas Hospital and delivered meals on wheels. She is survived by her son, Larry B. Luedke of Faribault and by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, by two sisters, Rose Canterbury and Jean Iverson and by her brother, Wendell Campbell.
