AGNES DOROTHY PRIEBE died Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Lakeshore Inn Care Center in Waseca, MN. She was 103 years, 10 months, and 27 days old. Funeral services will be held at the State Street Chapel of Dennis Funeral & Cremation Services, 711 N State St., Waseca, MN on Saturday, January 22, 2022, with a 10:00 visitation and an 11:00 funeral service. Burial will be in Woodville Cemetery.
Agnes was born in Pocahontas, Iowa, on February 19, 1918, the daughter of Iver and Elsa (Olson) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed at Vista Lutheran Church in New Richland, MN. She attended country school District #85 in New Richland Township and New Richland High School.
On June 24, 1942, Agnes was united in marriage with Harold Priebe at Vista Lutheran Church. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Otisco, MN, where she was very active in the quilting group. Agnes and Harold operated a dairy & crop farm in the Waseca area.
Agnes enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends, especially lutefisk dinners with her brother, Carl. Spending time and caring for her family where among her greatest joys. Other interests were music, her Christian faith, quilting, hardanger, crocheting and sewing. She was known for her compassionate nature, generous soul and exemplified modesty, grace, and dignity.
Agnes is survived by three children: Charles (Monica) Priebe of Waseca, MN, Charlott (Donald) Wilhelm of Dodge Center, MN, Curtis Priebe, West Concord, MN; 8 grandchildren,17 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Betty Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Iver and Elsa; husband, Harold in 1988; three brothers: Carl, Harold and Bertil Johnson; sister, Esther Chamberlain; brother-in-law, Horace Chamberlain; sister-in-laws, Helen (Charles) Atkinson, Luella (Herb) Lachelt, Marcella Brown, Oriet Johnson, and Evalonne Johnson and daughter-in-law Bonnie Priebe.
